Chief Executive Officer

Jim Durkin

Jim joined the Group as head of the corporate broking team in March 2005 and was appointed Executive Director in October 2006 and to the position of Chief Executive Officer in December 2011. He has over 30 years' experience in the UK securities industry. Prior to joining the Group, Jim worked at Collins Stewart. He has worked extensively on the origination and execution of corporate finance transactions across a range of industries including insurance, property, financials and utilities. Jim is one of the founder shareholders of the company in 2005.

Non-Executive Chairman

Gerry Aherne

Gerry was appointed a non-executive Director of the Company in April 2012, and was appointed Chairman of the Company in May 2012. Gerry enjoyed a long career as a fund manager and was an executive Director of Schroder Investment Management Limited until 2002, managing both institutional segregated and pooled pension funds and unit trusts. He is currently Non-executive Chairman of Electric & General Investment Fund and Omnis Investment Limited. Gerry was previously an executive Director of Majedie Investment plc and a non-executive Director of Henderson Group plc, Mecom Group plc, Iveagh Limited and Linear Investment Limited.

Gerry is Chairman of the Nomination Committee, and is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Non-Executive Director

Jeff Hewitt

Jeff was appointed a non-executive Director of the Company in June 2008. Jeff was the Group Finance Director of Electrocomponents plc from 1996 to 2005 and Deputy Chairman from 2000 to 2005. Prior to 1996 he had various executive Director appointments, having started his career with Arthur Andersen, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and The Boston Consulting Group. He is a non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust, Senior independent non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Commitee of Vesuvius plc and Chairman of Electrocomponents Pension Trustees. He was previously Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee of the John Lewis Partnership and has been chairman or Non-executive Director of several other listed and private companies.

Jeff is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration and the Nomination Committees.

Non-Executive Director

Anthony Hotson

Anthony was appointed a non-executive Director of the Company in May 2012. Anthony joined the Bank of England in 1978 and worked in the Economics Division, Governors' Office and Money Markets Division. He subsequently worked for McKinsey & Company and then in the corporate finance division of S.G. Warburg. He was a director of S.G. Warburg & Co. Ltd. from 1992 to 1995 and subsequently managing director and head of the Financial Institutions Group, SBC/UBS Warburg until 1998. He was a non-executive director of Henderson Group plc from 2002 to 2009 and Chairman of its subsidiary companies, London Life and Towry Law, before their sale. Anthony has an MPhil in Economics from Nuffield College, Oxford, and a PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art. He is a member of Wolfson College, Oxford and is currently a Research Associate at the Centre for Financial History, Cambridge.

Anthony is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees.

Finance Director

Mike Chilton

Mike was appointed to the Board in June 2012. Mike has over 30 years of financial services experience and joined the Company in April 2011 from NS&I (National Savings and Investments) where he was Finance and Risk Director. Prior to this, Mike worked for 10 years at Standard Chartered PLC in a variety of senior finance and risk roles, including Group Head of Operational Risk and Chief Financial Officer for their Africa Region. After qualifying as a chartered accountant with PWC, Mike spent several years with them as a management consultant in their financial services practice. Mike is also a Trustee and the Vice Chairman of Sightsavers (the Royal Commonwealth Society for the Blind).

Executive Director

Joe Nally

Joe was appointed to the Board in June 2012. Joe has over 35 years' experience in the UK securities industry having first joined Williams de Broe in 1976 as an investment analyst. He went on to become a stockbroker covering a wide range of institutions in the UK and Europe. In 1992 he was a founder of the institutional corporate finance department at Williams de Broe where he gained extensive experience across a broad range of sectors in IPO's, secondary fund raising and takeovers and mergers, particularly in natural resources. Joe was one of the founder shareholders of the Company in 2005 and has significant expertise in the mining and oil and gas sectors. He is currently the Head of the Natural Resources Team.

Executive Director

Paul Hodges

Paul was appointed to the Board in June 2012. Paul has over 30 years' experience in the UK securities industry having first joined Laurie Milbank as an insurance analyst in 1981. He subsequently worked for a number of financial institutions and he was a top ranked composite insurance analyst in the City for several years, specialising in the assessment of insurers' exposure to long-tail liability claims relating to tobacco and lead. Paul was one of the founder shareholders of the Company in 2005.

Executive Director

Nick Wells

Nick joined Cenkos as head of corporate finance in May 2005. Nick has over 25 years' experience of investment banking. Prior to joining Cenkos, he was, for five years, Global Head of M&A at WestLB where he was responsible for transactions in the UK, Germany and Central Eastern Europe, overseeing a number of complex cross-border deals. Previously, Nicholas had worked at County NatWest, BZW and Lazard, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979. He has experience in a range of sectors including leisure, property and support services. Nick was appointed to the board in October 2015.

Non board member, Company Secretary

Stephen Doherty

Stephen has been with Cenkos since February 2007 and was appointed to the position of Company Secretary in September 2007. Stephen is a qualified Chartered Secretary and has over 20 years' experience of working in company secretarial roles within the securities industry. Prior to joining Cenkos he had spent two years with Fidelity International. From 1991 to 2005, Stephen worked at Singer & Friedlander Group and was the Group Company Secretary from 2000 until 2005. Prior to this period he spent four years with Ernst & Young where he qualified, having previously spent three years within the Legal and Compliance department of Pearl Assurance.
